COVID-19
The Spartan Open Pantry (SOP) will be open normal hours until during Greensboro’s Shelter at Home order. Please do not come to the pantry if you have been in contact with an individual with COVID-19 or have any flu-like symptoms. Updates will be provided here and on social media.
We are here for you!
Emergency Home Delivery
If you have been exposed to or diagnosed with COVID-19, please request a food delivery and assistance from the Spartan Open Pantry and the Dean of Student Office by filling out this Google Form.
Our Response
We have returned to self selection of food, with the limit of two people in the selection area at a time. Please be patient as this may cause longer wait times than normal. All pantry users, staff, and volunteers will be required to wear a mask and stay 6 feet apart from anyone outside their household. We routinely clean handles and surfaces during pantry hours.
Our Wednesday Martha’s Table meals will be to-go meals, instead of sit-down meals. They can be picked up Wednesday nights at 6:00 pm at the SOP.
We have added an additional hot meal, served as to-go meals on Tuesdays beginning at 6:00pm Tuesday nights.
All UNC Greensboro Students, Staff, Faculty and recent Alumni (1 year) are served by the SOP. We also serve students from Greensboro College.

We need your monetary support now more than ever. We know that resources are tight, but if you can give we will put it to work serving the students struggling with food insecurity and job loss in this difficult time. In the Spring Semester alone we will release more food than in a normal year as release more that $5000 in emergency food gift cards.
Community Resources
The Greensboro Farmers Market has compiled an online resource directory to connect the community with fresh local food while supporting Market vendors, in lieu of the regularly scheduled Saturday Market which is temporarily suspended due to COVID-19 pandemic precautions.
Greensboro Urban Ministry’s mission is to express the love of God to our neighbors in need by offering food, shelter and solutions. Our vision is stable lives for our neighbors. With a food pantry, shelter, and daily meals GUM has a lot to offer.
