Wesley-Luther is proud to oversee the Spartan Open Pantry, The University of North Carolina at Greensboro’s food pantry for students and staff in need of assistance. From assistance for students who need a little help at the end of the month, to homeless students and families who depend on the pantry for complete support, the SOP assists our neighbors who need a hand. The Spartan Open Pantry is part of a larger program of care at UNCG, coordinated by the Dean of Students Office. More information about PATHS can be found here.
The SOP is located in the fellowship hall of College Place UMC at 509 Tate St., on the corner of Tate and Spring Garden Street. Distributions are made each Tuesday evening from 5 pm until 7pm or by appointment in an emergency. College Place UMC is located directly across from the Weatherspoon Museum of Art. Parking is available for volunteers and those picking up food.
Wesley-Luther is grateful for the support of The Division of Student Affairs, their “Food Fridays: Beyond a Canned Response” and the valuable non perishable food it provides. We are also thankful for the support of College Place United Methodist Church and for St. Mary’s House, as well as the Student Affairs Service Committee and The Office of Leadership and Service Learning.
If you are out of food and need food immediately please contact the Dean of Students Office.
