While thinking about what to blog about this week, I was most evidently struck by the concept of emotions, in particular, frustration. But then something amazing happened. God calmed my soul. He heard my prayers and felt my emotions and prepared my heart to listen to Him. I have been consumed, lately, by petty things and everyday frustrations as many of us are. This build up has caused me to consider things that would be unhealthy for others and myself. I make a habit to look for ways that God is working in my life to make His presence feel less distant. Sometimes life makes this difficult and God must scream above the noise we allow to drown Him out. Luckily, God has done this for me the past couple of days. What I would normally consider to be average occurrences became very meaningful experiences and profoundly changed my thinking. Always remember that God places people, whether they are friends, family, or complete strangers, in our lives for a purpose. And most importantly, you are one of those people for others as well. Intimidating, right? No worries, God is very intentional in that way.
Now I leave you with my favorite Bible verses:
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to proper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.” -Jeremiah 29:11-12
