Unconditional Love

In the beginning there was clear thought, and now you ask? The following is a culmination of the scattered thoughts that are occupying my mind. The past few days have been a whirlwind of positive, negative, thrilling, life altering, awkward, and confusing times I’ve ever had. I know that life presents things that we may feel unprepared for or too overwhelmed to deal with at the time, but I feel that the purpose they hold is greater than the sum of the scattered feelings we have while dealing with them. For example, Wesley-Luther just got back from the majestic mountains of Eagle Rock, Virginia. While there, we read a book called “Crazy Love” by Francis Chan and talked for several hours about the unconditional love of God. It is such a hard concept to grasp that someone whom we have never met has loved us more than we can even fathom since before we were even conceived. And then, on the other hand, it’s even harder to develop that ‘crazy’ love for God, a being that you have never seen, but has been with you all the moments of your life. This has caused me to reflect on my relationships with others as well. In particular, I have had to truly reflect and incorporate forgiveness into my life lately. Those who I have let hurt me unintentionally and those who have hurt me carelessly have burdened me long enough. I have decided to let these resentments go and choose to forgive them as God has forgiven me time and time again. I believe that this is the first step in strengthening my love for God and understanding His love for me. I hope that these words resonate with you in some way and bring you closer to the God that has loved you unconditionally, does love you unconditionally, and will always love you unconditionally forever and ever. Amen.
